Located in the shadows of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains just north of Santa Fe, Encantado is a serene, spacious, and luxurious resort.

Encantado boasts 65 casitas, a full-service spa, a yoga studio, a restaurant and bar, a fitness center, meeting rooms, a heated pool and hot tub, and an art gallery. The creators of Encantado wanted to ensure that the wide-open spaces of the New Mexico desert were felt throughout and in between the resort’s many buildings.

We worked closely with Auberge Resorts, the owners of Encantado, while planning this sign package. To maintain the uncongested, natural look they wanted we kept exterior wayfinding to a minimum. Beyond the required pool and hot tub signs, rooms signs, restroom signs, and emergency wayfinding signs, we created simple trail markers to indicate the correct footpaths to guest lodgings, signs to identify the boutique and art gallery, and a large plaque to identify the spa building. These varied signs were united with the use of only a few materials: stainless steel, core-ten steel (a weathering steel), and PaperStoneTM, all of which also reflect the clean, natural environment.
