The University of New Mexico School of Architecture, designed by architect Antoine Predock, is a tribute to New Mexico’s culture, color, geography and ancient architecture. This is a working building designed to function both as a teaching tool and school. Century Sign Builders worked closely with the design architects to develop a custom signage system that worked with the overall building design and still meet all ADA and IBC codes.
Flat aluminum plates were chosen as signage substrate to reflect both the large, flat exterior wall and the minimalistic interior design. One of the intrinsic challenges of creating a sign system for a building with ever changing instructors and personnel is to create the ability for the end user to update the information on the signage quickly and easily.
